Charlton Morris continue their partnership with an industry leading Biotechnology company specialised across Genomic workflows & Clinical solutions, to now appoint an experienced Strategic Account Manager based in the Hamburg area, who will be responsible for overseeing existing key accounts and developing strategies to upsell and cultivate revenue further.   

Working amongst your highly skilled German & European Application, Sales and Instrument Specialist counterparts, you will have full autonomy manging major clients across Academia, Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology fields, driving new product uptake, with the primary aim of consulting on existing product use/new applications and consultatively selling to win! Your region will include Hamburg, Kiel, Lübeck and Rostock and you’d be expected to travel regionally up to 80% of the time.   

You will be expected to have existing hands on Genomic product experience from a lab, and a Life Science degree ideally within the field of Molecular Biology. Don’t worry, we are not looking for PhD level geniuses!    What we are looking for, is commercially proven and technically savvy Biologists who enjoy the thrill of providing premium sales consultations, managing and closing new business. Key applications you will be targeting include RNA research, Next Generation Sequencing, Precision Medicine, Single Cell Genomics and many more!   

"What skills and experience should I possess to be successful in this role?" Well I'm glad you asked:     

  • Degree in molecular biology or similar discipline.  
  • Knowledge of DNA/RNA sample preparation, (q)PCR, NGS and related instrumentation.  
  • 2-3 years Technical sales, Account Management or Instrument sales experience with a good track record of maintaining existing revenue and upselling new solutions.  
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to travel 70-80% across Hamburg, Kiel, Lübeck and Rostock.  
  • Fluent in German and excellent verbal and written English skills.
