Field Applications Scientist - Life Science Automation and Robotics.

London UK £50,000

I have partnered with one of the fastest growing and innovative organisations in the world that is breaking to the boundaries for upscaling laboratory research and medicine using their cutting edge life science automation and robotics systems.

The Field Applications Scientist will work closey with customers worldwide, helping to design and develop next generation automation for labs and the life sciences.

You’ll work at the forefront with customers - understanding their needs, analysing their protocols, reviewing their lab layout, and generating proposals for full automation solutions. You’ll be responsible for demonstrating our products and services, as well as provide training, support, and business development as needed


In this role you will be;

  • Installing and commissioning robotic cells on client sites around the UK

  • Maintaining equipment and infrastructure provided by Automata

  • Troubleshooting issues that arise with equipment and completing repairs

  • Running routine tests, inspections, and calibration of equipment for quality, safety, and compliance standards

  • Perform regular software updates to equipment and install additional hardware upgrades to improve performance

  • Create reports to help track the installation, maintenance, and validity of the systems you install

  • Work with our wider Applications team to develop best practice for quick deployment of systems

  • Provide regular feedback to our Product team on how the systems we create perform in the field, along with offering suggestions for improvements

To Be a Good Fit For This Opportunity You Must

 

  • A degree/qualification in an engineering discipline, or a track record of working as a Field Engineer

  • You’re a good problem solver, and have experience in performing diagnostics

  • You have a good eye for detail

  • You’re able to follow a set of instructions accurately with minimal guidance

  • You’re comfortable working on your own to solve problems

  • You’re able to talk to clients in a professional manner

  • You have good communication skills
