In January this year, we set ourselves a target to raise £10,000 for St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds and we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been able to blow this out of the water, raising a massive £12,121.51!

It’s been great to see every single member of the company being so immensely proud to support this deserving cause. I speak on behalf of everyone when I say that we hope the funds raised will help them to continue providing their invaluable and first-class care.

My mother was cared for by the Hospice before she unfortunately passed in 2008 and in addition to how they cared for my mother in her final days, the support they gave me and my family made a real difference. They genuinely care and have a natural desire to help.

We made it our mission to help support their amazing work, which will help them to continue to provide support for families in similar circumstance to my own.

Throughout the year, we’ve done all sorts, including tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks, which saw us trek a combined total of more than 1,000 miles:

The Leeds 10K:

Countless table tennis tournaments:

The Great Morris Bake Off:

Christmas Jumper Day:

And our very own marathon man Jack Shute kindly donated all money raised for his effort in the Yorkshire marathon this year:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my colleagues at Charlton Morris for putting up with my countless emails about the charity this year, but more importantly for getting behind the cause and raising so much money over the last 12 months.

The support has been, at times, genuinely overwhelming and it was with a huge swell of pride that I handed the cheque over earlier this week.

Another massive thank you also goes to everyone who donated! There have been some very generous contributions from friends, family, clients and candidates, who we naturally couldn’t have done this without.
