Celebrating a (Socially Distanced) End of Year

At Charlton Morris we celebrated the end of our seventh full year in business a couple of weeks ago, but with a difference.

Since we returned to our new office in Leeds city centre, safety has remained our top priority and our socially distanced end of year celebrations were no exception.

For us, it was always important to acknowledge the individual and collective achievements of our people in what’s been a difficult time for many. So, we decided to push on with our end of year celebrations, albeit in a different way to the widespread celebrations we’re used to.

We teamed up with Leeds-based event planners extraordinaire Pink Gorilla Hairy Lemon to take advantage of our huge new Leeds HQ to create a socially distanced spectacle for our employees.

Presentations were delivered by myself and the rest of the leadership team in the main presentation area, where we spoke about the year and handed out the awards.

Thanks to the technical support of AV Matrix, our presentations were then live streamed around the office to TVs where socially distanced groups of employees sat and watched – keeping the presentation area clear and safe.

Catering was then provided by local culinary experts, Fior Alba, who supplied each employee with a COVID-safe, individual bento box.

We’ll be sure to celebrate twice as much when we can, but it was fantastic to be able to celebrate our achievements from this year, safely, all the same.
